Casa Torga is in Aldeia Velha in the border line area of Beira Alta, at the foot of Serra da Malcata, and close to the important border crossing of Vilar Formoso (about 30km), the historical village of Almeida and the medieval village of Sortelha.

In the “Serra” overlooking the Village, you can find the Archaeological Station of Sabugal Velho. Here, excavations were carried out, which attested the presence of remains related to two chronological times: the first phase during the 1st millennium BC and the second phase of human presence in the XII-XIII centuries. The findings are shown in the Museu do Sabugal.

In the surroundings of the Village one can visit the several sets of “Anthropomorphic Graves”.

If you like bullfighting you must assist a “Capeia Arraiana” with wooden pitchfork, held during the month of August, Carnival and New Year. Seize the opportunity to taste a wild boar stew and the grilled lamb or kid.
